TATUNG EINSTEIN SPECTRUM EMULATOR (DISC 1/2/and yes, 3!- SYNTAXSOFT)

THIS SMALL HARDWARE ADDITION WILL ENABLE YOU TO LOAD FROM CASSETTE CERTAIN SPECIFIED SPECTRUM GAMES AND PLAY THEM ON YOUR EINSTEIN. INITIALLY UP TO TWENTY GAMES MAY BE PURCHASED IN SPECTRUM FORMAT AND THESE ARE LISTED ON THE DISC THAT COMES WITH THE SPECULATOR, THESE INCLUDE FAVOURITES SUCH AS "THE HOBBIT", "TWIN KINGDOM VALLEY" AND "HUNCHBACK", WITH A LOT MORE PLANNED (EXERPT FROM TATUNG (UK) MONTHLY LETTER)

THE GADGET ATTACHES TO THE PIPE AT THE REAR OF THE EINSTEIN AND ALLOWS CONNECTION OF A CASSETTE RECORDER BY 3.5mm JACK PLUGS. A SPECTRUM GAME LOADED INTO THE EINSTEIN COULD THEN BE SAVED TO 3" DISK , THEREFORE NEGATING THE NEED TO EVER LOAD IT FROM CASSETTE AGAIN. GOOD FOR ITS TIME!

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE THREE DISKS AVAILABLE FOR THE SPECULATOR, AND THE SPECTRUM GAMES THEY ALLOW YOU TO LOAD INTO THE EINSTEIN :-

SPECULATOR DISK ONE (PICTURED BELOW) : ARCADIA, ATIC ATAC, FLIGHT SIMULATOR, GRIDRUNNER, JETPAC, LASERWARP, PROJECT FUTURE, STARION, TORNADO LOW LEVEL, TWIN KINGDOM VALLEY, ASTRONAUT, DALEY THOMPSON'S DECATHLON, HUMPTY DUMPTY MEETS THE FUZZY WUZZIES (Why?), HUNCHBACK, JUMP CHALLENGE, PERCY THE POTTY PIGEON, SPECTIPEDE, STOP THE EXPRESS, TRAX, THE HOBBIT.

SPECULATOR DISK TWO : SWEENO'S WORLD, ROBIN OF SHERWOOD, 180 DARTS, NONTERILAQUEOS, AD-ASTRA, RASTA SCAN, FEUD, TERMINUS, RENTAKILL RITA, S.O.S., GREMLINS, LUNAR JET MAN, SNOWMAN, DESERT RATS, WAY OF THE FIST, RESCUE, SPITFIRE 40, MASTER OF MAGIC, DANGERMOUSE, LORDS OF MIDNIGHT.

SPECULATOR DISK THREE (Almost unheard of but it seems it did exist!) : COUNTDOWN, LAZERZONE, 3D TUNNEL, HUNGRY HORACE, SCRABBLE, PUSH OFF, FIREBIRD, MUGSY, PSSST, ANDROID, MICROMOUSE, CHESS, PENETRATOR, SORCERERS LORD, H.U.R.G, UCHI MARTA, SPIN DIZZY, BLOOD 'N' GUTS, FINDERS KEEPERS, NIFTY LIFTY. Also on this disc was a new version of CLOAD and a Spectrum BASIC detokeniser.

IT WOULD SEEM THAT IT WAS POSSIBLE TO OVERRIDE THE PROTECTION OF THE "SPECULATOR" AND PLAY SPECTRUM GAMES THAT DID NOT APPEAR IN THE DISKS, AND ONE ARTICLE I READ IN MY MAGAZINES SUGGESTED A DISK HAD BECOME AVAILABLE THAT ALLOWED THE SPECULATOR TO PLAY ANY SPECTRUM GAME.

WHETHER THIS DISK EVER SAW THE LIGHT OF DAY IS ANYONE'S GUESS!
