It's the 40th anniversary of the launch of the Tatung Einstein TC01 this year. Hard to believe it was all the way back in 1984. What's even more hard to believe is that literally last week, my Tatung Einstein that I grew up with decided to finally bite the dust! I couldn't believe it - during my absence from the site I've had it safely stored away for years. Obviously the sudden shock of having electricity passed through it after all this time was too much for the old girl!

I'm calling on a little bit of help! Does anyone have a Tatung Einstein TC01 they wish to sell/donate? I'm not nearly as tech savvy as some collectors out there but I get by. I'm looking to do a direct motherboard transplant. Simple but hopefully effective!

I'm attached to this particular machine, as this is the one my parents bought me when I was 10. This is the one I grew up with, learned to type and program on, the one that inspired me to create this site. I couldn't possibly replace it with another Einstein, it just wouldn't work - too many memories attached to this particular machine!

I was ready to do a feature video on the Speculator - showing it working which I was looking forward to, but unfortunately that has been put on hold - the Einstein 256 doesn't have the pipe connector for the Speculator.

If anyone can help please get in touch!

I'll keep an update on the status of my machine here - hopefully I can turn that sad GIF up top into a happy one!

WHITE SCREEN ON THE MONITOR EVEN IF EINSTEIN SWITCHED OFF. POWER SUPPLY WORKING BUT NOTHING ELSE IS UP AND RUNNING.
